Project Boon’s 5th Annual Eat & Be Well in Fontana

Project Boon’s 5th Annual Eat and Be Well Pre-Thanksgiving feast serves up free fun, food, haircuts, and much-needed health services to Inland Empire’s underserved populations.

Thanksgiving traditions get people into the spirit of giving. For the past four years Project Boon’s Eat and Be Well event has brought this experience to every part of the community—connecting those who have to those who don’t. Long-time volunteer, Lisa Gordon of Cal State University San Bernardino says:

I believe giving to others is good for my soul and my way of paying back for all I have received. Eat and Be Well gives me that opportunity year after year. It is a gift of love with no strings attached.

On November 23rd, the day before Thanksgiving, at Seville Park in Fontana beginning at 11 AM, Eat and Be Well will enter its 5th consecutive year of bringing the Inland Empire community together for the common good. The annual Project Boon event draws hundreds if not thousands of people together for a fun-filled day of feasting, entertainment, and games for the kids. Most importantly, it helps people in need stretch their budgets while still enjoying all that the season has to offer.

In past years, this has included free flu shots from Walgreens, haircuts from Mane Salon and bus passes from Omnitrans to help people without transportation get to and from the event.

To serve up to 2500 attendees, Eat and Be Well relies on donations to cover costs and food items. You can contribute or sign up to volunteer at Eat and Be Well’s website or drop off turkeys or canned food such as sweet potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce at Cowboy Burgers & BBQ in Rancho Cucamonga. Visit our site for a complete list of items needed. Any excess food will be donated to support other food banks and events.
